2019 Seneca Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a luxurious medium-to-full bodied wine bursting with aromas of white pepper and red capsicum. The palate is soft and luscious, with notes of fresh red currants, cassis and a velvet-lined cigar box. 15 months spent in a blend of new and old French oak gives balance, integrated tannins, and a long lingering finish. A great match with charcuterie boards, garlic roast chicken or smoked lamb.
The 25 year old vines are located in the stunning Nagambie Lakes region of the Goulburn Valley. The terroir, nestled by the Goulburn River, consists of textured sandy clay loams over free-draining soil.
Long dry summers and cool nights allow the fruit to develop in richness and complexity; the perfect place to grow classic cool-climate Cabernet Sauvignon.
Colour: Lively, deep red colour.
Aroma: Medium to full bodied with blackberry currants and cassis flavours. Notes of tobacco and cigar box to finish.
Palate: A dry wine. Medium intensity. Bursting with white pepper, red capsicum and red currents.
